Information I Collect From Other Sources

I may also obtain information from other sources and combine that with information I collect through this website. For example, if you create or log into your account through a third-party social media site, I will have access to certain information from that site, such as your name, account information and friends lists, in accordance with the authorization procedures determined by such social media site; I may also collect information about you when you post content to my pages/feeds on third-party social media sites.

4. How I use your data

Where I need to perform the contract I are about to enter into or have entered into with you. For example, when you purchase our products, that’s a contract.

Where it is necessary for our legitimate interests (or those of a third party) and your interests and fundamental rights do not override those interests. For example, when I carry out fraud screening as part of the check-out process.

Where I need to comply with a legal or regulatory obligation. For example, keeping records of our sales for tax compliance.

Generally, I do not rely on consent as a legal basis for processing your personal data other than where the law requires it, for example in relation to sending certain direct marketing communications. Where our legal basis is consent, you have the right to withdraw consent any time.

5. Advertising, marketing and your communications preferences

I may use your Identity, Contact, Technical, Tracking, Usage and Profile Data to form a picture of what I think you may want or need, or what may be of interest to you. This is how I decide which products, services and offers may be relevant for you and tell you about them.

I normally carry out direct marketing via email or email newsletter blasts. But I may also allow others to serve advertisements on our behalf across the Internet and to provide analytics services. These entities may use cookies, Ib beacons and other technologies to collect information about your use of the Services and other websites, including your IP address, Ib browser, pages vieId, time spent on pages, links clicked and conversion information. This information may be used by myself and others to, among other things, analyze and track data, determine the popularity of certain content, deliver advertising and content targeted to your interests on our Services and other websites and better understand your online activity. For more information about interest-based ads, or to opt out of having your Ib browsing information used for behavioral advertising purposes by companies that participate in the Digital Advertising Alliance, please visit www.aboutads.info/choices.

I do not control these third-party websites and are not responsible for their privacy statements. When you leave our website, I encourage you to read the privacy policy of every website you visit.

On my website, I always try hard to make it really clear what I am doing and what communications you will be sent, whether it’s you deciding to sign up to my Newsletter or purchase something – and you have a right at any time to change your mind and say no thank you and opt out. The easiest way to opt out is to use the unsubscribe link at the bottom of the communication.

I work with Mailchimp (to send out emails, newsletters, and blog posts), and Teachable (to sell my online courses), so I strongly advise you to review their respective data protection policies.

My partner for getting tracking data is Google Analytics. In particular I use cookies to collect anonymous tracking data.

I am based in the United States and the information I collect is governed by U.S. law. By accessing or using the Services or otherwise providing information to me, you consent to the processing and transfer of information in and to the U.S. and other
countries.

All emails and newsletters that I send out allow you to opt out of further mailings. I have put in place procedures to deal with any suspected personal data breach and will notify you and any applicable regulator of a breach where I am legally required to do so.

8. Data retention

I will only keep your personal data for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes I collected it for, including for the purposes of satisfying any legal, accounting, or reporting requirements.

To determine the appropriate retention period for personal data, I consider the amount, nature, and sensitivity of the personal data, the potential risk of harm from unauthorized use or disclosure of your personal data, the purposes for which I process your personal data and whether I can achieve those purposes through other means, and the applicable legal requirements.
